Individuals
Working one-on-one, we address personal and professional issues that affect your quality of life. Issues such as anxiety, obsessions and compulsions, panicky feelings, sadness, low self-esteem, and sexual dysfunction can keep us from living our lives fully. Psychotherapy contributes to personal growth, self-actualization, and the skills for managing life's obstacles.

Couples and Family
I work with couples and families from all walks of life. Our work may focus on improved communication, conflict resolution, codependency, boundaries, and building trust. We can also talk about issues specifically facing couples trying to conceive, new parents, step-parents, adoption, empty nest, bereavement, and those caring for an elderly relative, life partner, or friend.

Coaching
In coaching, we define and clarify your life goals. Once these have been articulated, we work to develop a plan of action. This process focuses less on past traumas and alleviating psychic pain, and more on asking the right questions and producing results. We start with where you are, and I work with you as a collaborator. Areas of my coaching expertise include dating and relationships, health and wellness, blended families, parenting, and elder care.

For Artists and Performers
Artists and performers face unique challenges, which may manifest in performance anxiety, substance abuse, or other impediments to a fruitful creative life. I work with you on developing a sense of perspective, building a strong support network, and calming the mind, so you can better cope with the inevitable highs and lows that come with a life in the arts.

Eco-Anxiety
The climate crisis is an inescapable stressor, a global reality impacting our sense of safety, hope for the future, and trust in our institutions. New forms of stress are arising as we struggle with feelings of powerlessness, grief, guilt, and even despair. My goal in providing climate-aware psychotherapy is to use my training, techniques, and experience as a climate activist to meet the mounting mental health crisis arising from the increasing instability of our planetary system.

Aging
With 10+ years experience in the field of geriatric mental health at Mount Sinai Medical Center, I am uniquely qualified to address concerns facing the elderly and their caregivers. These might include support as you navigate the medical system, conflicts involving adult children, Alzheimer's and dementia care, Parkinson's disease and other neurological illnesses, the stress of estate planning, and self-care.  Issues may also include finding love late in life, sexuality, health maintenance, and spirituality.

In-Person, FaceTime, Zoom, and Phone
I am available for in-person sessions in my Greenwich Village office, as well as FaceTime, zoom, and phone sessions. Please contact me for details.
